Bike for sale | Monday, April 15th, 2013

(I hereby promise that this will be the last automotive/motorcycle-related post for a while)...

So, I'm selling my wicked touring bike. This is the motorcycle I rode on my 12000+KM trip through Canada and the U.S. last fall; a 2005 Victory Kingpin.

Details copy-pasted from my Kijiji ad after the jump.

Selling my motorcycle, 2006 Hyosung GT250, $3100 | Monday, February 22nd, 2010

(reposted from Craigslist)

I bought my 2006 Hyosung GT 250 new in March of last year (2009) from Zone Moto; it was a Salon de la Moto demo, never ridden.

Full specs and review for the bike here.

There are lots of forums and aftermarket parts suppliers dedicated to this bike.

I've added:

  • Leather Tank cover with bag clips ($200)
  • Front Iridium Windshield ($120)
  • Center Stand ($100)
  • Hyosung Lowering kit ($100 with labour)

With only 3300kms, This is an awesome 250cc, light, quick bike, uses very little gas and amazing around the city and on the highway, especially ideal as a first motorcycle for new riders (like I was), women or shorter people since it's lowered (I'm 5'8" and the bike fits me like a glove). I ride with friends who have 500s and 650s and can keep up with them. It's less expensive, faster and better handling than a Ninja 250, extremely reliable (not a single problem with almost daily driving all summer) and has that awesome naked look.

It comes with the remainder of a 2 year warranty valid until March 2011 (so the entire riding season!) at Zone Moto. The bike was broken in properly and gently, the initial service is done (all synthetic oil), and it will be due for its 4000km service soon, which will be done by Zone Moto at my expense before the bike is sold (or, if you prefer to do it yourself, I will subtract the cost of the maintenance - about $100 or so - from the asking price).

It is like new, maintained meticulously, with only a few nearly invisible scratches (seen in pics below) on read fender and exhaust can - the bike was not dropped but I clipped the side of my garage door the first day I got it. The bike was stored on its centerstand all winter in a heated garage with a trickle charger, and the tires were rotated regularly.

I will include the original manual, receipts, a bike cover and all original parts / bolts / etc that came with the bike, including the kit to raise it back to stock height.

Hey Quick Plug... | Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

... said in a Pete Shweaty voice, of course.

I'm selling both my car and my (in)famous camera - they're both on craigslist and Kijiji and priced to sell fast, but preference is given to friends / family / the sexiest woman alive / anyone who reads my blog.

No, I'm not going carless or giving up photography. Quite the contrary; I'm getting a new car and a new camera. Another Pentax, of course. ;)

New MSI Wind Netbook for sale | Friday, January 2nd, 2009

EDIT: SOLD!!!

Put up my barely used netbook up for sale over on craiglist - pass it on! :)

I'm selling a pristine brand new MSI Wind netbook that I had bought as a temporary machine while waiting for my new laptop to arrive. It has barely 2 weeks of use on it, comes with everything brand new in its box. In addition, I installed Ubuntu Linux 8.10 on it with all the add-ons and extras (It still has Windows XP French installed as well).

  • 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom Processor
  • 1 GB DDR Ram (upgraded from 512 MB)
  • 80Gb Hard drive (unlike the tiny 4 - 8GB SSD drives in most of these things)
  • 10.2" Screen (the reason I chose this netbook - way easier to work on than a tiny 8" screen like the one on the eeePC).
  • 1 year manuf. warranty with receipt.
  • Running Windows XP french (original install), Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 (with Compiz Fusion running smoothly - this thing's got a surprisingly good 3D chip). You can easily install Windows Vista as well, or - yes - Mac OS X.
  • As seen in the pictures, yes, the machine is totally new, with the plastic and stuff still on it.

New HP PC Computer for sale | Sunday, October 7th, 2007

I just received a brand new computer from a client for a project I'm working on but I don't need it, so if you know anyone who's interested (Montreal area only please), hit me up! :)

Specs are here on the HP site.

In addition to those specs, they've added another 512mb of RAM (for a total of 1gb), a firewire card (I can't find the driver disk, but you can get it easily off the net), and a 17" NEC CRT monitor. It's registered with HP and still has almost 3 years of onsite warranty.

It comes in the original box with all original documentation, including recovery CDs and manuals, optical mouse and keyboard, and all cables.

It runs Windows XP, Symantec Anti Virus - I've also installed Adobe Photoshop CS 3 and Adobe Lightroom, and will leave them installed (no CDs).

The price for the computer itself as you can see on the HP site is $579 USD plus tax and S&H - without the added memory, firewire card and monitor.

I'm asking $500 all included.
